I am Gianella and I am a Spanish teacher (profesora de español) from Chile and I help people like you to study Spanish. The best part of my job is to meet people from all over the world, to share experiences, cultures, and above all to continue learning about my own language.
cruzar el charco
Since I was a child I started to travel with my family in Latin America and every time I got to know a new country my urge to travel further became stronger and stronger. That is how one day I challenge myself and «cruzé el charco» (literally to cross the pond, but we say this when our trip includes crossing the Atlantic, from one continent to another). For six years, I traveled and lived in different places in Europe, today I treasure unforgettable experiences and friendships, and now, I am planning my next destination.
a beautiful profession.
I started to study primary education at the university in my country and after a couple of years, I was already working as a teacher in a school in my city. The time I worked in that school was full of good experiences and incredible stories. Some of my students (now teenagers) keep in touch with me and that fills me with joy.
Then I went to Barcelona. I felt that I needed more tools and techniques to teach Spanish, I studied Teaching Spanish as a foreign language and since then I study, teach and don’t stop learning from this beautiful profession.
What do I like the most about my job?
The constant paradox of teaching how to speak a language and learning from it by teaching it.
